Past Work Experience and Accomplishments


A long history of leadership and experience in design development, problem solving, architectural planning and design services which have helped in the creation all types of custom residential and non-residential projects.

Past work includes:

Over 200 single family residential projects incorporating elements of passive solar, natural and artificial lighting, landscape design and energy efficiency into the design.

Non-residential work has included hotels, motels, retail shops, restaurants and office space including mixed use retail/office buildings.


Project Manager for the creation of the Water place Housing "Water Place", and Employee Housing Project for the City of Aspen. The project provided twenty-two (22) new energy efficient single family homes for City employees around a common open space. It was completed on time and within the budget and was the first certified "green" multi-family project on the Western Slope. All the homes in this project received a five star rating by "Energy Rated Homes of Colorado" and in 2004 an A.I.A Merit Award for Design Excellence.

Interior space planning and lighting design for office space.

Construction observation, contract administration.

Arbitrator of disputes arising between the Homeowner and the Builder.

Expert witness regarding claims the inadequacy of construction documents, defective construction and poor workmanship.

Project Architect for the Washington State University Communications Infrastructure Renewal Project which began in the late fall of 1991 and was completed in 1995. The work involved the modifications to 324 existing buildings throughout the campus to allow for the installation of a campus wide fiber optic computer cable network. The completed project provided the entire university campus with a common utility for the transmission of data, video and voice signals on an integrated campus wide network. WSU is one of the first universities to build its own campus-wide computer network.

Project Architect in 1985 of the Design/Build Team chosen by the City Glenwood Springs, Colorado to build a 530-foot long, five-span bridge Pedestrian/Bicycle Bridge. The bridge design by Bob Pattillo, P.E features a parabolic arch over the river over the Colorado River and connects pedestrians

I offer a long history of working with teams of engineers, consultants, governing municipalities and clients which has given me a seasoned approach to the profession of architecture and planning. Finding the best possible solutions requires a willingness to listen and mitigate difficulties in the process. My commitment is to understanding the people being served and providing careful and supportive assistance in getting a job done well.
