ABOUT THE ARCHITECT

DAVID HAUTER

I am a licensed and accredited architect with over 45 years of experience in helping clients meet their design goals. My work strives to achieve a balance between practical application, sustainability, and consideration of the senses. My penchant for traveling has enriched my appreciation of architecture from New York City to Mumbai, to Hong Kong and Mexico.

It is my mission to help create buildings that are harmonious with their surroundings and to successfully fulfill the needs of the client and all who use the buildings. I take a straightforward, direct approach to each project and tailor my work to your specific needs and ideas and then collaborate on an exciting new vision.

After having earned my architectural degree from Washington State University I moved to Colorado’s Western Slope. This is where I live in harmony with the mountains, lakes, rivers, streams, and wildlife. It is an essential part of who I am. It has fostered reverence and profound respect for nature.

THE CONCEPTUAL IDEA OF A PROJECT IS A VERY PERSONAL EXPRESSION OF THE CLIENT AND THE ARCHITECT

My approach is to find a connection with the client and create a vision that focuses on the possibilities of the future. Every project is different, as is every client, and each project requires a particular set of talents. There will always be new and exciting techniques in the practice of architecture, and I work to continue learning new skills using modern technology while drawing on my substantial past experiences.

A natural leader, in that I work well with people. I am enthusiastic about bringing ideas to life by coordinating and stimulating team activity.

I am result-driven and design-focused, and bring my passion for sustainability, functionality, and visual design into each project. I have deep familiarity with relevant compliance guidelines, regulatory codes, and safety laws involved in the design and construction of a wide-range of building types and uses. Throughout each project, I strive to establish and strengthen working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
